Coincidences and Constants

It was June 2013 when i first met Dr Nina. I had found out a couple of weeks earlier through a home pregnancy test that I was pregnant and was nervously waiting to meet her at Jehangir OPD. She came out smiling (and she had short hair back then) and asked ‘are you waiting for me?’

As far as coincidences go, both my pregnancies were the same (5 years apart though). Here are the facts:
1st Pregnancy
LMP : 20th April 2013
EDD : 28th January 2014
Sex : Boy
Symptoms : Morning sickness throughout the first trimester and mild obstetric cholestasis in the 8th month
Hospital : Jehangir Labour Room Bed 1
Duration : 40 hours with epidural (of course)

2nd Pregnancy
LMP : 21st April 2018
EDD : 27th January 2019
Sex : Boy
Symptoms : Morning sickness throughout the first trimester and obstetric cholestasis in the 8th month
Hospital : Jehangir Labour Room Bed 1
Duration : 19 hours with epidural

The only difference was that i was of course older and wiser from my first experience but the second time epidural didn’t help much and i felt all the pains in the end.

Through it all Dr Nina has been my ‘Constant’. She delivered both my babies normally. During my first delivery her wrist was fractured but she still gave me a fundal with one hand! And during the second delivery we were so busy chatting away and hoping for a girl. Hers was the only smiling and calm face i remember from the labour room. And another thing that was constant was knowing that i was in safe hands always.

I wish Touch of Life & Dr. Nina all the very best and may you reach greater heights of success.
